Broachers simply machine a channel in the side of the cutting knife to:
• Eliminate swaging (increasing knife height) at the bend point of the knife.
• Eliminate cracking of the face or edge of the knife. • Eliminate Knife edge distortion.
• Allow a minimum radius to be achieved.
• Allow the use of harder knife even on sharp bends
and complex shapes.
• Effectively bend side bevel knife.
• Produce a “Kiss-Cut” precision die.
• Save time and material.
• Reduce Makeready time on press.
• Aids in achieving greater press productivity.
